“Not all who wander are lost….”
I provide handyman project services to my community. Operating chiefly in Oakville, Burlington, Milton, Clarkson and West Mississauga here’s what I do:
Plumbing, routine electrical, flooring, tiling, carpentry, drywall, mudding/taping, painting, feature walls & wainscoting, shower mixer/faucet repairs, masonry & brickwork, deck work, bathroom renovations, ……on and on.
My background as a civil engineer gives me a huge advantage. Trouble-shooting and problem solving is natural for me, my customers attest to that.
My customers also benefit from my attention to detail, my ability to accurately plan and schedule a project and honourably stick to that plan, to competently deliver great results and to adhere to the three guiding principles of great project management; …. communication, communication and communication!
A bit about Martin deLoughery:
I started my professional life as a Civil Engineer after graduating from Nottingham University (UK) with a BSc. Civil & Structural Engineering.
The eight countries I’ve lived in include the UAE, where I was Chief Planning Engineer on the construction “Burj Al Arab” in Dubai, the world’s first 7-star hotel. Towards the end of that project I enrolled in a Master’s Degree distance program (Computer Information Systems) with the University of Sunderland (UK). Still in Dubai, I graduated with my MSc. in Computing in 2000, having spent the whole of the final (3rd) year writing my thesis on Web & Internet Security.
I spent the remainder of my career in Canada, mostly at Microsoft Canada followed by several years in consulting until 2019.
I then decided it was time to live my dream.
That’s how I became a full time handyman with engineering know-how, and a seasonal Motorcycle Safety Course instructor at Sheridan College every summer since then.
